There are several events in history that have occurred because of a lie. Salem Witch Trials and the January 6, 2021 Insurrection on the United States Capitol are among those on a long list. We are still feeling the effects of the Insurrection almost five months later, whether it be through the denial that the event occurred in the way it did or whether allies of former President Trump continue to spread the Big Lie, even after their lives were threatened that day.

One member of the GOP has not bent the knee to the Mad King’s lie, and that…

The glitz, the glamour, the celebrity. Award shows are the mecca of appreciation for the Hollywood elite to enhance their egos on how great they think their art forms are. While there are some that still find this appealing, many others have lost interest, especially in the last five years.

The 2021 Academy Awards aired on ABC on Sunday, April 25 th, and it has been reported that the viewership declined over 50% since last year. Only 9.85 million viewers tuned to this latest festival of ego stroking. …

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for with this new administration. We finally saw a solo press conference with President Joe Biden over 60 days since the beginning of his term. There was a different mood compared to his predecessor’s, but some of the same themes apply: lack of confidence from the American people in the handling of many different topics, including COVID-19, immigration, and bipartisanship.

Although there is a new goal to vaccinate 200 million Americans, there was little to no mentioning of the efforts to combat COVID-19 or a reiteration of his timeline to return to normalcy…

Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ Birthday are celebrated every March 2 nd. The day’s purpose is to encourage kids to read and the two events used to coincide with one another (I’ve commemorated the occasion by making a Green Eggs and Ham pizza; recipe is listed below for your reference. I swear I will open a book today for some additional celebration). Recent years have seen a diversion from Dr. Seuss as people have seen some questionable things in his books.

Dr. Seuss has been a large part of people’s childhoods if you’ve grown up in the last…

The Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) would like to sell you Donald Trump’s greatest hits that include the #1 hits like fake news and the wall. They’ll include a bonus track of election fraud conspiracy theories just for you if you call within the next five minutes.

I don’t want to get sued for any kind of misrepresentation, so I want to be clear that I am being facetious. CPAC is not selling any kind of media to the masses with Trump’s greatest hits. However, it seems like we heard much of the same thing from Donald Trump as he…

I have a confession to make. I haven’t really read all month, whether it be a physical book or audiobook. In fact, I haven’t even thought about blogging or posting in the last couple of weeks. Instead, I’ve been taking my own advice for a little bit while keeping my ear to the ground: practice self-care and “practice what I preach”.

I’ve mentioned previously that I enjoy the use of a to-do list. It’s the one organizational tactic that I use that restores some level of sanity in me. I tend to be a task-oriented person, so ticking off the…

Today concluded the impeachment trial that included the prosecution and defense’s closing arguments and an about-face for the Senator’s request for calling witnesses. A rather predictable outcome from the Senate to acquit former President Donald Trump came in the late afternoon on Saturday. Some are disgusted with the result and the process and some relieved that their idol remains unscathed. It ultimately seemed like a waste of our time and taxpayer dollars, especially dollars some of us don’t have amid an economically devastating pandemic. The impeachment is over, but the real work is just beginning. …

Days three and four of Impeachment 2.0 saw the conclusion of arguments from both the House Impeachment Managers and Trump’s defense team. Democrats continued to reiterate that words have consequences, including the fact that it can cause a deadly insurrection like the one we saw on January 6, 2021, and thus have consequences for our country. Trump’s defense team maintained that Donald Trump was exercising his freedom of speech during his speech on January 6th, Democrats also have blood on their hands because of their rhetoric and that election fraud is real. January 6 this one of those important days…

Day two of the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump saw the House Impeachment managers continuing to plead their case that Trump’s rhetoric incited not only the attack on the Capitol, but other events prior to this as well that led up to what happened on January 6, 2021. They used the facts related to the Capitol event in addition to rallies and marches that happened because of Donald Trump’s rhetoric. I swear, this could have been done in less time because it seemed like the same point was being made in five different ways. …

People will say that we are living in unprecedented times ad nauseum these days, whether it be COVID-19 or the Capitol riot. The second impeachment trial of a United States president has been added to that list. Today was part one of the Senate hearings with the conclusion of this part tomorrow (Wednesday, February 10 th). This could go longer if there are witnesses called (yay…). …
